We use a valid credit card number to secure a booking in case of no show or cancellation. For Abbeyfield Guest House we expect payment to be made in cash using British sterling or Euros or with a British cheque with a cheque guarantee card. Credit card payment will only be made if there is a no show or cancellation and for miscellaneous e.g. loss of keys etc. damage of any kind to the property etc., and this will incur administration charges. In the event of accommodation, which has been reserved being cancelled, or if the guest decides to leave prematurely (regardless of reasons), it is desired to draw attention to the fact that an Hotel or a Guest House has the right in law to claim to be reimbursed for any loss resulting from a cancellation or no show.

Cancellation If cancelled up to three days and for group bookings (2 rooms or more) up to one week before arrival, 50 per cent of all nights will be charged. If it is cancelled later on or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. This is a binding contract.

Please note that Payment is on arrival by cash only.

We do not have a full time reception and we work around the arrival times of our guests and knowing the approximate time of arrival its important.

Also we would be grateful if you could call us 10 to 15 minutes before your arrival at the guest house as this would help to make sure someone can be there to receive you. Please note that 10pm is the latest check in, later check in has to be agreed by prior arrangement.
